Automatically execute a Flash CD Rom Tutorial

Macromedia Flash allows exporting the final result of your work as a "projector". That means your movie will be not exported as swf file and instead will be exported as an exe file in Windows. The main advantage is that projectors don't need a flash player installed to reproduce, because the projector file (.exe) contains one already. Thus you can play your flash movie in a PC even if that has not any flash player plugin or flash standalone player. Nice don't you think?

Once you are ready to end your work go to "Publish Settings" under File menu and pick the operating system where you expect the movie to be reproduced. In this example Windows, but you can also pick Macintosh.

This way you can burn your projector in CD-ROM. But you surely want that file to be auto executed when somebody inserts the CD in a proper drive.

So now you have to create a text file and put it in same place that your projector. You need to call that file "AUTORUN.INF" and put it in CD ROM root directory.

This can be easily done using a text editor such as Notepad, but the important thing is the content; so write this:
[autorun]
open=file.exe
icon=file.ico

Name your projector "file.exe" (or whatever, but be consistent) and name a graphic icon "file.ico" and put it also in same place that other files mentioned before. This icon will be show when the CD is inserted on My Pc.

Note: Some OS may be tweaked to stop your auto execution attempt. If that happens you can't override user's setting.
